Sharing a Piece of You

What it is that you believe in life? A question like this will solicit as many answers as the world's population. Apart from one extreme , dishonest and unrealistic answer ' i dont believe in anything,' many answers will fall in the category of ' i believe in something,' consciously or unconsciously.
Any human being believes in something, real or unreal. The human body is 'wired' up that way. Religion takes up much of the belief system. It is therefore paramount to point people the right thing to believe in so that they can discover the reason for their existence. And at the core of that existence is nothing and no other than Jesus. Knowing and believing in Jesus is finding the reason for being on this earth. People who believe in him must make Him known and sharing Him can be a tricky if not daunting task, sometimes.
Last Sunday at the youth meeting (Youth Ablaze) we simulated sharing the gospel. It was hilarious!!! One group never went beyond just saying 'Hi.' Christians, who know the way and the benefits thereof need to be active in sharing this with those who don't. There are many ways of doing this but I only echo one system that i have used for many years. I learnt it in my youth group.
If you want to share your faith, first, you need to be absolutely conviced that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. Really? Yes! There are some Christians who still doubt. Being convinced about what you believe in will give you impetus to share.
Second, do your home work in studying the scriptures. God and His word are one. He honors His word. His word will never return back to him without accomplishing what he sends it out to do. Take time to study, know and memorize scripture so that when you go out, it will be at you finger tips.
Third, work out an order on how to go about sharing. When you approach a stranger, you need to know that many people are impatient when they know that you are about to share the word of God with them.Of course this is the work of the enemy. So you need to be as wise as serpent.
- Introduce you self politely and ask if you could share something with the person for minute.
- Then, tell them the reason you feel compelled to share with them
- Then, unleash the gospel with the scrpitures you have studied. If they allow you to open the bible and read, then take you time.If not, then you can quote or paraphrase scripture from memory. The following order can help;
a) All have sinned. Rom 3:23
b) The wages of sin. Rom 6:23
c) God is love and he cares John 3:16
d) He saves (and only Him can) John 3:16
e) Here is how to get saved. Rom. 10:9
f) And the reward is eternal life. Rom 6:23b
Ask if that person is willing to offer his/her life to the Lord. If yes, pray with them. If not, thank them for their time and promise to continue praying for them.
Indeed, sharing your faith is a very importnat task and Chrsitians who know the truth and are confident about it must share that with others.
At Youth Ablaze, we are suppose to be vested in this.

The Beginning

It's great to join the band wagon of bloggers and share thoughts, sentiments, and knowledge to those within 'earshot.' In this information age, care is to be taken as to which source of your information is. A 'sieving' mind is a pre-requiste for knowledge building. I read a lot, watch a lot and listen a lot but my mind is alert to only take in that which can build my spirit, soul and body.

I hope that I will also help others to be built in those tripatite areas.
